Down 44 pounds oh my

Who'd a thunk it? I never would have dreamed in my wildest dreams that it could be like this. I have lost 44 pounds as of today since January 3, 2008. I can even bend over and tie my shoes now without straining a muscle. Still walking on a daily basis and have now added stationary bike some, 100 crunches per day, and weight training on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. My walking goals have changed a bit since I have added all the other activity. But as we become more aware of our own bodies needs we have to stay flexible and roll with the changes. It has been important to me to add the other activities and change up my routine often to keep my body guessing as to what is going on and to keep my metabolism at peak performance. I am happy, feel great, and excited about my daily workouts. It is great when we see progress, it helps to keep us motivated. However, even in times, like last week for me, when we don't lose much weight is important to look at the big picture and remember "this too shall pass". As long as we stay on track and have the support we need, weather it be here on SP or at work or at home then together we can accomplish anything. So for now the FatMan will keep on keepin' on. Till next week. Not so Fatman says see ya.

Keeping on Track

Well my weigh in this week does not reflect the way I feel and the way I am looking. that is for sure. I only lost .2 pounds this week but considering all that happened that is no surprise. I was unable to walk for three days in a row so I was doing the stationary bike. I also attended my Dad's wedding on Saturday and I had a planned food fest that day to help spike my metabolism back into high gear. But no fear I am back on schedule and plan to have a very good weigh in next week. The reason I say my weigh in does not reflect the way I look and feel is because I was looking at my self in the mirror last night and WOW, even I am seeing changes now. My man boobs and my belly are shrinking big time and my muscles in my arms are beginning to grow. I never really noticed it much before last night, but it is happening. I can also really see changes in my face and hands. Well, 36 pounds down and about 64 pounds to go. I'll keep on keepin' on.

Walking goal this month???

I am a bit concerned that I may not reach my set walking goal for this month. I have had a heel spur on the bottom of my left heel the last few days so I have been unable to walk. I have still been getting my cardio in with the stationary bike though. So it is not like I have let anything go. I have also intensified my strength training this past week. My wife and I worked out for a good solid two hours at the YMCA last night. We had a few free passes and thought we would take advantage of them. However, we only have one free pass left, so if there is anyone out there that has any free passes to the YMCA that they are not going to use I would be more than willing to come pick them up from you. Thanks. Well, we will keep on keepin' on.

Ya Got to Yee Haw!

Yee Haw... I done good this week. I lost another 7 pounds this week. One pound per day isn't bad. Down from 302 to 266 for a total weight loss of 36 pounds since January 02, 2008. Ready to kick it into high gear now. Watch out beach this summer. I won't be lookin' like the whale this year. I'll be the hottie all the girly's are eyeballing this year.

Not feeling much like the FatMan Walking today.

Things Change Everyday

Well I'm still on track for my weight loss goal. My walking goal has changed a bit though. I set it at the beginning of the month to walk 120 miles this month since I done 100 miles last month. But I have since added a lot of weight training to my routine. So I am lowering my walking goal back down to 100 miles for the month. I will be more than happy with that since I am also doing about 4 hours a week of weight training now on top of the cardio. Tomorrow is my weigh in day this week and I think I have done well this week. So you will see my weight change tomorrow morning. I have also decided to go back to weighing myself everyday instead of once a week. I feel I can better monitor my progress this way. I feel it will also make me more accountable on a daily basis for all things that I do. I know that my weight will go up and down a pound or two on a daily basis but as long as it is no more than that I will feel I am doing ok. I think keeping track of everything every day make us more responsible to self. So I will keep on keepin' on and I an trying new things and adding new things to my routine every day.
